Where DO we Source from?
Sidamo
Sidamo is a region in central-southern Ethiopia known for its distinctive coffee. Coffee from this area, referred to as Sidamo coffee, is cultivated in the Ethiopian highlands at elevations ranging from 1,700 to 2,000 meters above sea level. The flavor profile of Sidamo coffee varies based on several factors, including whether it is washed or unwashed, the specific growing location, soil composition, microclimate, and coffee tree variety. These variables make it challenging to define a single, distinct taste for Sidamo coffee.
Yirgacheffe
Yirgacheffe, a small yet renowned region within Ethiopia’s Sidamo province, is celebrated for producing some of the world’s most sought-after specialty coffees. Its unique flavor profile, influenced by the region’s high-altitude growing conditions—ranging from 1,700 to 2,200 meters above sea level—sets it apart in the global coffee market. Surrounded by the Wenago, Kochere, and Gelana Abaya districts, Yirgacheffe benefits from rich soil, a favorable microclimate, and traditional coffee cultivation practices that enhance its distinct taste. As the specialty coffee industry continues to grow, the international demand for Yirgacheffe coffee remains strong, making it a key player in Ethiopia’s coffee exports.
Guji
Guji, located in the Oromia region of southern Ethiopia, is a lush, green area renowned for its high-quality organic coffee. Situated near Yirgacheffe, another famous coffee-producing region, Guji benefits from ideal growing conditions, including altitudes ranging from 1,950 to 2,300 meters above sea level. The region’s nutrient-rich soil and shade-grown cultivation methods contribute to the unique and complex flavor profile of its coffee. These factors make Guji coffee highly sought after in the specialty coffee market, known for its vibrant acidity, floral notes, and rich body, making it a favorite among coffee enthusiasts worldwide.
West Arsi- Nensebo
West Arsi Nensebo coffee is a high-quality Ethiopian coffee known for its bright acidity, floral aroma, and complex fruity flavors. Grown in the Nensebo district of West Arsi, in the Oromia region, this coffee benefits from high altitudes from 1,900 to 2100 meters above sea level, rich volcanic soil, and ideal climatic conditions. Nensebo coffee is typically processed using the washed method, which enhances its clarity and vibrant taste. It often exhibits notes of citrus, berries, and jasmine, making it highly sought after in the specialty coffee market.
